India grabs hold of all your senses and never lets go. From the Himalayas in the north to the spectacular beaches in the south it is a country of huge contrasts. Its ancient temples, landmarks and rivers provide a reflective contrast to the bustling cities and their overflowing traffic. More than a billion people live in this intense land. You will be helping to build one of these houses but on your rest days, you will be able to spend time with the local community, learning about India's fascinating cultural diversity and exploring some of the local ancient landmarks.

The benefits you bring in making this journey.
Desperate poverty and appalling living conditions are found right across India. More
than 60% of the country's estimated 180 million dwellings are temporary or in a dilapidated condition. On this 15 day challenge you will be helping a family to build a home in India. Not only will you be helping to build a home, you will be helping a very poor community to live in safe and decent housing.
